D & c anyone???

I have an incomplete abortion so now I have to get a d and c. I'm in the ER right now has anyone had this? Do they put you to sleep or your awake? I'm really scared please share your experience

They can do either awake or asleep. It’s quick but for me was extremely painful with my missed miscarriage at 9 weeks. I would choose asleep if I ever had to do it again.

I had a d&c and was put to sleep, I was in pain for the first day but it was ok after that, just emotionally painful. Sending you love and strength x

I had one at 10 weeks in Jan of last year. I’m also a L&D nurse so see them all the time. They put you to sleep, the whole procedure takes about 15 minutes and then you go to recovery. I had some cramping for about a week and bleeding like a normal period. My period came back exactly 6 weeks later. 
Much better than the pills in my own opinion.
