PSLF???

Question

I graduated in 2017 with my associates for Early childhood education. Someone at work told me to apply for loan forgiveness. I’ve been with my preschool since 2017. I read that you had to make 120 payments to qualify, yet another teacher just got approved for the forgiveness and she hasn’t made that many payments. Has anyone received loan forgiveness before making 120 payments?

I am receiving loan forgiveness but after I make the qualifying payments. I haven’t paid anything yet. During the pandemic some of those months were considered as qualifying payments whether you paid or not.

I received PSLF (~40K forgiven) but not until I reached 120 payments. During Covid, there were some changes made to the dates that allowed some to receive forgiveness who would not otherwise have been eligible. Maybe that person was one of them.

My fiancé just received a letter last week that he received load forgiveness. I’m not sure that he made any payments and if he did then only a handful probably.
