Just looking to get this off my chest. So I was bored and decided to change my Hinge location to another state because it seemed like the matches in my city were trash. I changed it to Memphis and matched with a guy the next day. We’ve been talking since the beginning of January. Last week he drove 8 hours to see me in my city and planned out a whole date night which was sweet! We did a pottery class and went out to dinner and he had flowers for me. Before the date, my nerves were bad so I grabbed wine on the way. Come to find out, the pottery class was BYOB and he brought my favorite drink plus wine if we wanted that. I got drunk, fast lol, but I had a phenomenal night. We kissed, it was pg-13, which is good. He did not pressure me to come back to his hotel with him. We just ended the night and went our separate ways. I feel like in my past, a lot of guys have been sex crazy which I hate, especially because I’ve been SA’d and this time around I’ve just tried to enforce hard boundaries.

Anyways, the next day he drove back home and everything was cool. I would like to mention that he booked me a flight to nashville a few days before our first date, which at first I found sweet, but after consideration I realized was a bit uneasy about. When he first sent me the confirmation, I was excited because nobody had ever done that for me so soon, but after talking with my mom and friends, it just didn’t seem right. I wish he would’ve asked if that was something I was comfortable with first before doing that, but I get he was just trying to do something nice for me and surprise me…

What are you alls thoughts on this? Am I potentially blocking my blessing by not giving him a fair chance? I told him he is more than welcome to come back to my city and we can spend the weekend together, that way I have access to my car, my family or anything if anything were to happen. I guess I’m just being cautious especially based on my past and I’d rather be safe than sorry. I broke the news to him that I didn’t feel comfortable flying out there and he was clearly disappointed. Last thing to add, the days he wanted me to come, I have work and really can’t afford to take off, but he works Friday-Sunday or Monday, so we have an opposite schedule lol. Lmk what you guys think in the comments.
