Do you ever regret trying to show interest in your teens interest?

My teen boys were in their room and were laughing at something. I come in and ask what they were up to and what they were watching. My 16 year old says "It's these twins called the island boys! They're weird! They kiss each other and suck on each others necks!" Then my 15 year old shoves his phone in my face and says "Look what they have on their Twitter! They post pics together with their weinies out! Those are boner wienies! They're twins and came out the same womb and post with their weinies together! It's gross!"

My fault. I shouldn't have asked. I regret walking in that room now.

Edit: My kids don't look up to them. They were making fun of them and were disgusted/shocked that twins would do that.
