Membrane sweep

I’m getting a membrane sweep at my next appointment on Thursday, I’ll be 38 weeks and 2 days. I’ve been sitting at 3 cm and 60 percent effaced since 36 weeks. What’s everyone’s experience with the membrane sweep? Did it help start labor? Did it not do anything for you? Hoping it’ll help get things started otherwise I’m getting induced at 39 weeks and I’d rather go naturally if I can.
