Yes, they will continue to mature. The trigger shot allows for that and also prevents any potential ovulation prior to procedure (that’s why the timing is so important). I didn’t bring anything to my retrievals. Gown and socks were provide by the clinic. They also have pads if needed (I never needed them). I knew the count once I woke up but I guess every clinic is different. Good luck tomorrow!
egg retrieval advice
hi everyone who is going through the mad journey that is ivf this year! i have had my last stim and trigger injection last night! booked to go in for my egg retrieval tomorrow morning…really excited to have made it to this point but also feeling the nerves and anxiety kicking in massively now. so far we have counted 12 follicles in total at my scan yesterday, 5 of them are measuring between 17 and 19mm, the other 7 that they were able to see are all sitting between 10 and 15/16mm. is it likely the smaller ones will grow any more between pulling the trigger and going in for the retrieval? i have a “lower than expected for my age” amh level of 6.52pmol/L and am nearly turning 26. no other issues found with myself or partner. also wondering what i should pack for the hospital? only really been told to bring some slippers, a house coat, clean underwear and some pads for any post op bleeding. also been advised to bring a book or some magazines for ward entertainment whilst we wait for the embryologists to advise us of the eggs retrieved. overall though really looking forward to seeing how many eggs we manage to get and what’s to hopefully come after the transfer. best of luck to everyone on this journey and my heart goes out to you all! feel free to message me if you want to chat/vent i am here for everyone who needs a fellow ivf friend! 💕🪺

got the call this morning to advise that all 5 eggs have fertilised! they are looking at doing my transfer either on day 3 (saturday) or day 5 (monday)!

i just woke up around an hour ago to be told they only managed to obtain 5 eggs but apparently all of them are looking good as far as they can see, currently having some food and omg i didn’t realise how starving i was, went really well the sedation was a breeze!!
The ones that are closer to 15/16 might get there! They grow 1-2mm per day. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 I did not pack much of anything for my retrieval as I was in and out quickly. Just my cell phone and wore comfy clothes. Best of luck tomorrow!! You’ve got this!

i just woke up from retrieval about an hour ago, they only got 5 eggs but apparently all are looking good as far as they can tell (?) ive been here since 7:45 and is now 12:15, currently having a chicken sandwich and it’s the best thing ive ever eaten i swear lol
