Did I make right decision ?

Question

I went to the doctor for a checkup of me and baby at 28 weeks. I expressed that I was feeling alot of pain in my pubic/pelvis area . It hurts to walk, stand, sit for a period of time ….especially when I try to turn in bed at night . He explained to me that it was Symphysis Pubis
Dysfunction. He advised me to get more rest and stay off my feet . He told me that I didn’t have to go back to work . I’m not due for another 2 months . I felt like such a let down when I told my job that I have to take medical leave 2 months earlier than expected. I also feel relieved that I don’t have to work at such a busy , fast paced dental office while pregnant and in pain for 40 hours a week. This is my first baby …should I have took the medical leave so early ? Or just sucked it up ? I’m feeling defeated

If your dr says no work, then you shouldn’t feel bad for taking this time off.

If your doctor is advising you not work and rest instead, don’t feel guilty. It’s not often that doctors write pregnant women out of work unless they believe it’s necessary to do so. 
For both of my pregnancies I worked at a factory lifting boxes that were 30 lbs and I asked for a lift restriction but my obgyn told me she’d prefer not too because since my body was already used to lifting that amount of weight it wasn’t dangerous for me to continue to do so despite me struggling to lift and carry boxes around my belly. And that wasn’t her being an asshole, it’s just they typically encourage you to continue your normal day to day and stay active so when they advise the opposite, it’s for good reason. 
Take advantage of the time to rest. The only case I would maybe suggest otherwise is if taking the 2 months now would interfere with your time off after delivery. For instance, my first pregnancy I was worried I’d go into labor at work and all of my coworkers kept telling me they were surprised to see me still working so I asked to be written out of work 2 weeks before my due date and unfortunately I went 4 days past due, so I lost 2.5 weeks of PFL and had to return back to work 3.5 weeks pp instead of the 6 I would have had if I had worked right up until I delivered and thankfully by then I had recovered and felt well enough to go back. Luckily. But I learned from that mistake and worked right up until delivery with my second, but because I was hired on through the company at that point, I got 3 months maternity leave, double the time I was alotted as a temp. 
But that’s only because I had no complications and felt well enough to continue to work right up until my daughter was born.

That happens after you give birth as well. Try using a yoga ball to ease the pain. If it were me id still go to work!
