Salpingectomy
Hi all, I wanted to update you on my journey…
I had a double salpingectomy (removal of both fallopian tubes) in April. I am recovering and although I am sad with the inability to have kids naturally, I now know the importance of having them removed.
Both of my tubes were filled with fluid. They were scheduled to be removed because I was going to undergo IVF with a limited chance of getting pregnant naturally. I had a bilateral salpingectomy and the surgeon found that my tubes were attached to my pelvic wall, intestines and bowels. The tubes were also wrapped around my ovaries. The right tube was bent and kinked. The surgeon knew exactly why I’d been in so much pain for so long. She said it would have been excruciating pain, which it was.
It’s been almost a month since my surgery. I’m still tender and sore from time to time, but I’m lucky that I do not have the pain like I did months ago. It is a hard pill to swallow, but there are so many options out there.
I’m excited for those that are becoming pregnant, and unfortunately that natural journey will never happen for me. There are options and I’m excited to explore them. Thank you for your constant support on this app. I am lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing women on this app!
