I yelled at my neighbor…😳
I’ll preface all of this with: we’re all military. Our husbands are all usually away and the spouses pick up all the pace. We do live on a military base and it’s not as “safe” as people think. Anyone can get on base 😒 I’ve had creepy men pull over in white maintenance vans to tell me it’s a nice day. While I was walking with my daughter…
Back story a bit… we share the same bus stop for our kids. She’s been here about a year. She has four. I believe her oldest is 6 or so. Her second is 4 and has special needs and goes to a different school program later in the day and she has twin daughters around 2 years old.
My friends and other parents at the bus stop have had a lot of things to say about her.
She’s called other kids “asshole” and “dick” to their faces and their parents’ faces.
We’ve watched her rip and toss her kids around like she’s an ape… she is almost always on her phone.
All the other moms have had to stop her toddlers from crossing the streets or going into other peoples’ yards.
She’s been letting her six year old walk home alone (two blocks) most of the year. In winter. In the pouring rain (today)…
He knows me from the bus, I’ve offered him rides home. We don’t always drive but when the weather is scalding hot or rainy or cold, we drive. We’re in Virginia so the summers are super hot and humid and the rain is torrential.
This kid always declines a ride… today it’s pouring and lightning and thundering. He was clinging to tree trunks to stay out of the rain and huge puddles.
I. Lost. My. Shit.
I drove around the corner and banged on her door… her younger son answered with their huge dogs who were snarling at me. The whole time I’m like “where is your mom??”
Their suv was in the driveway.
And I said “are you aware your son is walking home in the rain? Alone? Again.”
She was nonchalant like “no.. he likes to walk though”
😳 my kids like to walk to but I’m with them.
My kids are 7, 5 & 3. I think my 7 year old is too young to walk our busy streets home alone, across a street. Nope…
I just…. Snapped… “why is your 4 year old answering the door?”
Her son comes around the corner and she grabs him by the neck of his shirt and drags him in the house until he falls…. 😤
Snapped again… “this is something I’d think of calling CPS for…”
She interrupted me to say “well… I have my hands full”
I interrupted her kind of loudly “no! We all have our hands full. Get it together.”
I’m not sorry for what I said but the way I said it. I know she has her hands full. We all do. I’ve been alone for over a week doing all the cooking and cleaning and childcare…. Does not mean I’d abandon my kids pretty much every day 🙄
She asked another friend of mine like a minute before the bus arrived to walk two blocks away to grab her kids to take to the bus because “she’s tired”…. Bitch half the time we’re all at the bus chugging coffee in our pajamas with our hair in a mess…
