So i am about 8 weeks pregnant today, and just took a pregnancy test just to see if i still have a dye stealer, it was just a random thing i did today. I haven’t had a first ultrasound appt yet. My question is this, my dye stealer is gone! The test line is lighter than the control line now! Kind of has me worried. Anyone else have this happen? Or happen to test like me later in pregnancy and see this happen? Kind of worried.

Would’ve never imagined but it was true what everyone said. I mixed water with my urine and tested again! Thanks for commenting. I feel so much better now. 😊

The hook effect is happening (Google it). You have too much hcg in your system the tests stop working.

Happened to me too. It’s called the variant hook effect. Drink a bunch of water and retest and you should get your dye stealer.

I would stop testing now, I know it can be hard but a dye stealer doesn’t mean a ton. As the other commenter stated, because of how far along you are, the tests may not be registering it because it’s overwhelmed with HCG! You’d need to rely on ultrasounds and/or blood work for viability at this point.

The hook effect is actually pretty rare I would call your doctor and get in for an ultrasound 🙏🏻
