His readiness signs are: -can pull his pants up & down. -Says he needs his diaper changed either before or right after hes gone to the bathroom. -Can sit on the potty for a decent amount of time if hes entertained. -Has interest in sitting on the potty. Weve been trying to potty train the last few days but anytime he actually has to go he will scream & cry & thrash on the toilet (we have a seat for the big potty & training pottys) weve tried a reward system but if he gets one treat a day he doesnt care about getting another. We have had one full successful pee on the potty & a couple times he started to go in his pants/on the floor & we sat him on the potty for the rest & still gave him a treat. The rest of the time he has peed on the floor. He will say he needs to go then sit on the potty for like 30mins & not go. Then as soon as he walks away from the toilet he goes on the floor. Its really frustrating. That makes me think hes not ready but he definitely knows when he goes bc he says he needs a bum change. Idk if hes just stubborn or if hes genuinely just not ready.
