Going thru a pregnancy loss wtf is this?

Just found out my baby no longer has a heart beat. Haven't started the miscarriage yet but this came out of me today?? What is this?? It's been all day and nothing else happened is this normal?

How far along are you?
I had two miscarriages, one at 9 weeks and one at 6ish weeks. This could be your mucus plug (if you're further along) or just blood-tinged cervical mucus.
There's no true way of telling how far off a miscarriage process is from starting. My 9 week miscarriage took almost three weeks to start miscarrying, and it was like a very heavy period minus the one intense, sharp cramp (no other pain though). I had some pinkish tinged mucus for weeks before I started bleeding.
With my 6 week miscarriage, it was pretty much exactly like a period. Very subtle bleeding, then it picked up, then tapered off. That one I was only two weeks late when I started bleeding. 
It truly can go any time. You may have nothing one minute and then have intense bleeding without much warning. You may have light bleeding or spotting for days or weeks. It just depends.
