Blood blisters on nipples
Important side notes: baby born via c section on 6/27, second born child, I tend to be an oversupplier which before my left side decided to take vacation was shown in his weight, he actually gained a gram the first 24 hours.
The problem:
Okay so my kid latches and has a death grip. I think a lot of the error is on my end probably due to positioning. I spoke with lactation before leaving the hospital, made some adjustments but it’s still very pinchy on my left side specifically. Which has left my left side with a couple blood blisters. The lactation consultant gave me some gel patches but they will hit 24 hours around noon today.
I’ve been breastfeeding on the right side and pumping on the left so I don’t lose any supply while trying to figure this out. But how do I speed up healing so we can go back to torturing, I mean practicing our left sided hold.
I see his pediatrician on Monday (new baby appointment), my ob on Wednesday (c section check up) and I believe the support group for breastfeeding meets on Wednesday which would be my next opportunity for lactation consultants.
