3rd Retrival -disappointed ??

We had our 3rd retrieval today and with the amount of mature follicles that were counted on ultrasound Dr was only able to get 9…..9! I am so sad and disappointed and worried now that we won’t get anywhere with this round. Our 2nd round we had 15 then after mature and fertilize we had 8 after PGTA we had 2. In so trying to stay positive but sigh I’m having a hard time

I think these are actually great numbers. My first retrieval we got 10 eggs and 8 were mature, only 4 fertilized. I was devastated-we didn’t do icsi. We ended up with 2 untested. 1 was transferred fresh. He just turned 4! We transferred the other in 2021 and it ended in a chemical. We did another round of IVF in 2022. And we got 18 eggs! I was so excited. But it turns out only 9 were mature. 7 fertilized with icsi. We ended up with 4 embryos. We transferred one fresh. And he is now almost 18 months. We have 3 untested in the freezer and planning on transferring 1 this Thursday! I mean the numbers mean very little to me. It’s quality over quantity. I think you are right where you want to be. I know it’s hard not to be discouraged and we are so used to being burned. I have two beautiful boys but would love a third baby and I’m terrified that I won’t get that. Because we are survivors and survivors always remember the pain/suffering. Hang in there! 🙏🙏🥰🥰

Trust me it takes just 1. I’ve had max 9 eggs collected ever and I’ve had 4 eggs collected it other cycles. it just takes just one little egg that could. My last successful round of IVF I think I got 9 eggs collected. 2-3 were immature and 4 ended up fertilising. 1 of those stopped growing  on day 3 and the only didn’t fertilise properly.Of the remaining 2 I did a fresh transfer of a day 4 morula on day 5 which appeared to be the best one and I froze the only blast I got on day 6. The morula didn’t implant. The blast that was frozen - It couldn’t be tested it didn’t have enough cells. It was a poor quality embryo. But that’s now my only ivf success story. I’m 12 weeks pregnant with this one, just got my NIPT results back and all low risk. Try not to focus on the numbers. It just takes 1 honey.

Trust me I’m well aware of how much the numbers can screw with your head so you have every right to be devastated but just try and remember that it’s about quality not quantity and you just need one to work. Not sure if your age but with that number retrieved you do have a good chance of 1-2 PGT normal embryos. Hang in there and try and remain positive.
