My doctor schedules a pregnancy confirmation appointment before the initial prenatal appointment. For baby 1 this was a quick ultrasound, discussion, and out the door type appointment just to make sure there is a heartbeat (around 8 weeks).

I’ve scheduled both appointments, one at 8 weeks and one at 12-13 weeks. I’m open to my husband coming to it, but was wondering if that’s the norm or if most partners start coming with at the initial prenatal around 12 weeks when there’s more to see and discuss.

I don’t want to exclude him but don’t want to burden him with a trip to the doctor if that’s not the norm.
