So I hated the idea of just total loan forgiveness...you took out a loan you should pay it. Sorry but that's life. So was thrilled when that was shot down (Thank you trump court!!!). I have loans I am struggling to pay them but guess what I am because I'm an adult who signed a contract to pay back my loan. The loan that I opted to take out and wasn't required in any way...my CHOICE. Just forgiving them didn't fix the problem either so why do it when its just gonna keep happeneing. However I do agree there needs to be serious reform and yes student loans are super predatory, still a choice you need to take responsibility for, but a choice you make regardless. So the repayment plan the dems put out while not perfect by any means was at least having people pay still who could and helping thoae who actually couldn't. I applied and instead of my amount of $324 a month it was lowered to $145. I think the income levels needed to be adjusted as too many were getting too much help but to block the whole thing and not at least allow part are too far. The fact it stopped insane interest growth was huge and a great thing and needed. I am a dental hygienist and have so much more on my loan than I took out due to interest and that sucks. The limiting of interest was a good way to help without giving a handout so to not even allow that part is just cruel and I do think more about undoing just to prove a point than actually wanting whats best. Hoping parts if it get reinstated because while college isnt for everyone we do need it and we need the people in professions that require college. I wants best doctor treating me or the best engineer building the high rise I live in not the best out of only who could afford it. I think we can help without handouts...but a full block on this was wrong even if I disagree with 90% of left policies yes student loans need reworked and this shows it wasnt about payments vs forgiveness but dem vs republican. Edit:-ya they are predatory and my dumb ass at 18 took out loans. But I signed the contract to pay my loan back so ya I should pay it back. It is my fault I signed a loan with bad terms. Yoir comment makes no sense lol. Those things can both be true to 1 person at the same point. Loan forgiveness was too far, they are predatory and I have them and need to pay them.back
