How long did it take to potty train?

How long did it take to potty train? I am a teacher on summer break. My son is 17 almost 18 months old and has recently showed interest in the potty and understanding of using it so we are going to start potty training during my summer break. I am also 5 months pregnant so we would like to have our son out of diapers before his baby sister comes. For those who have potty trained, how long did it take you? Any tips?

My daughter showed interest around that age as well, but wasn't fully potty trained until about a week before her third birthday. ￼

agreeing with most everyone here, my son showed interest at that age. he is 2.5 now and just now seeming actually ready. you could still give a shot though.

My daughter also showed interest at that age but wasn’t ready. We started trying to potty train right before she turned 3 and she was incredibly resistant so we stopped after trying for a week. We restarted right after she turned 3 and she was potty trained within a weekend. she’s 4 1/2 now and uses overnight diapers.

My son showed interest at about the same age. We tried, but he wasn’t ready. So we worked our way up to it and gave it a big effort just after he turned 3. Took about a week.

I am a teacher and my son wasn’t ready until he was 4. We potty trained him when Covid hit and shut down the country that March. It took a week but we still had occasional accidents and had training underwear on when we went out to places. He was in overnight diapers until he was 7. He is 8 and has an accident maybe once a month. He sleeps so deep that the bladder isn’t getting the brain signal. His pediatrician said he will grow out of it. 
We have multiple bathrooms in our home. We kept one potty in the playroom, one in his bathroom, one in my bathroom, and one in the downstairs bathroom. He had 2 potty options downstairs and 2 upstairs. His dads have their own bathrooms as well but he didn’t need one in those bathrooms. We kept those training potties for 2 weeks and then quit using them. It really depends on the child. You might still need diapers for nighttime.
