Was I wrong to not say “I love you”?

I’ve been dating my current boyfriend for 3 weeks and he told me that he loved me, and I don’t really feel that for him yet. I just don’t think I ~love~ him yet, so I didn’t say it back and he got mad at me. Was I wrong for not saying it back? I just thought it would be wrong to tell him I love him when I don’t feel that for him yet and I just think it’s too soon for me to say it. I’m 18 and he’s 21

3 weeks saying I love you is honestly wayyy early for most. It’s a major red flag he got angry at you.

This feels like manipulation and lovebombing to me (look up lovebombing and how it can be a red flag for someone who is controlling or abusive). If he really loved you, he wouldnt pressure you into moving so fast emotionally (or physically). Dont let yourself be manipulated. You did nothing wrong.

I don't think it's a red flag if he said this within 3 weeks, if that's how he feels, that's how he feels. It definitely is a red flag to get angry at you for not saying it back. What's his deal? You don't feel that yet, so does he want you to lie so he can feel better?
Did you communicate at all or did you just ignore that he said anything at all?

Yeah red flag for him to say it that early and get angry for you not to say it back. 
My partner said it first and honestly I wasn’t ready and said when I tell you I love you, I truly mean it and it’s not something I just say. I knew he genuinely loved me as he had expressed years prior as friends he felt that way and she has shown me over the years it was true. I took a little longer to switch from best friends to lovers but he was totally okay I didn’t say it back. He said he would keep saying it because it’s how he felt but he wasn’t saying it expecting a return, he just wanted me to know I was loved 🥰 
When I finally felt ready and one day returned it, the shock on his face which turned into the biggest smile was so worth it! 😁❤️
The right man will wait and won’t ever pressure you for anything. 
Proceed with caution, could be red flag energy, could just be embarrassment because he expected it to be reciprocated.

No you’re not wrong , I can see how that would be hurtful to him to not hear it back . But that doesn’t mean he has to get mad at you if you’re not there yet .
