Fiance wearing a skirt to our wedding

My fiance is samoan. In their culture men wear skirts called lava lavas. Me and my fiance are getting married in a couple months and lava lavas are usually apart of the wedding attire samoan men wear. When my mom found out my husband is going to be wearing a skirt she got upset. She's planning the wedding and also the wedding photographer. She said wearing a skirt will throw off the wedding and the photos. My fiance told her it's a cultural thing and my mom told him we aren't living in samoan culture. We live in American culture and American men wear tuxedos. I was ok with my fiance wearing a lava lava because I want to show him I'm embracing his culture but my mom keeps putting thoughts into my head saying it will ruin the wedding photos. That he won't look masculine and we will just look like a lesbian couple since he also has long hair. Now I'm kind of just wanted him to wear the tuxedo. I told him let's just have him wear the tux. It will just make things easier but he's saying he doesn't want to wear a tux and it's his wedding to. I get it. I just feel this will make things easier and I don't want us to look like a lesbian couple
