My period is late but my preg test negative?

A few days ago I tested once for HCG and it was negative. I did an OPK and it was super light. I am now 3 days late to my period, and my OPK’s keep getting darker and darker. I just tested with OPK just to see what’s going on. I did read that pregnant women get positive OPK during pregnancy. Anyone experience this?
