My child’s father’s friend wants and has already started on my baby registry. I don’t know or ever met her so it strikes me as a little odd besides her doing a favor for the dad or for her own comfort. She has had a tragic event occur to her during the carrying of her child in which she lost the baby. I am very sympathetic to her and what she has gone through(and even thought to reach out myself to support). At the same time I am honestly confused by her gesture and even wanting to initially do the shower but never expressing communication with me or even wanting to get in contact.

Is this something that I am just overthinking?

Ps. I am appreciative to any help so I do not have any issue with a kind gesture.
