4m starting cereal???

My babe has his 4 month check up this Friday. Has anyone started them on cereal at this age??
My friend told me her dr, told her she could start her son on cereal at his 4 month check up. Just curious!!

NO! 4m is way too young to start any solids. 6m old is the recommendation from all major health organizations with ready signs met. 
Cereal is not advised anymore by pedi nutritionists. It’s not healthy and 0 nutritional value. Pointless empty calories.

Oatmeal yeah cereal no it’s really not good for baby but make sure you ask his/her doctor first

You can! Some babies start earlier than others.. If your child’s Dr is saying it’s fine, do it. Some babies actually need the oatmeal to help with GERD. Not everyone has the same child or the same circumstances, do what’s best for YOUR child. Trust your mommy judgement too
