Unrelated: anyone with medical knowledge?

GRACE Lilith • Previously Lilith DV survivor

For over a year now (yes, it took me this long to get a diagnosis WITH me pushing) I have a massive duodenal ulcer that you can very much see on CT scan. You usually can’t see those on CT scan meaning this one’s a fat one.

It causes me pain I can barely comprehend. I have been in the ER rolling around covered in sweat multiple times and crying begging them to help me and was givin the GI cocktail and morphine which took the pain down just enough for me to rest. I have been given a lot of meds to take everyday to help treat it and it’s .. exactly the same. I have a med that stops the stomach from contracting during digestion, one that coats the stomach, and then the cocktail of Lidocaine and mylanta.

Yes I do better when I eat what the doctor told me to eat but I swear I have “attacks” that are actually 10x worse and nothing helps. I am at high risk for perforation so risk for internal bleeding. Like VERY high risk for how bad this this is. GI app is tomorrow.

How do they repair an ulcer that has not preforated? #1 can I look forward to any pain free type of future? This ulcer has a steel grip on my life and 95% of my existence is in pain.

I read that the survival rate of surgery is low and I’m just sad and upset because I begged doctors for a year to listen to me about my pain. I don’t know much, no medical knowledge so go easy on me.
