Abusive behavior /response?

I was getting our youngest bathed, had my husband bathe our oldest to get them ready for bedtime. I got our youngest down for bed (he’s not even a year old yet). I’m eating dinner finally and sure enough as soon as everyone just settles down, my husband decides it’s a good time to blow on his loud whistle in our living room. To which I tell him to stop, since I didn’t want him waking up our baby and it was annoying/too loud in such a small space.

He gets PISSED. Says “good talk” and goes to our bedroom… slams the door and locks me out of the bedroom. Then he comes out because he was making himself food, starts slamming the kitchen cabinet doors and throwing around the pans to bake something on. And hasn’t talked to me since. I’ve just stayed out of his way because I don’t want to antagonize him more. His reaction was way over the top on that right? It’s been awhile since he’s acted like this but it’s at least an every other month occurrence where anything sets him off and he blows up.
