I have a dumb question 🙃

I have very irregular periods and had my last period in Oct 2023 🥲

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and prescribed pills to start my period and then given birth control to start on the first day of my period to regulate.

Well my question is… what is considered a period? I was spotting pink and brown for a couple days and yesterday I finally had some bright red spots on my liner and some in the toilet, but not much to fill a pad and today I also had some bright red spots on my liner and when I wiped… but again not enough to fill a pad. Would this still be considered a period and should I start the pills?

I’m trying to regulate to then switch medication to help me ovulate 😭
