Ever gone back to ex??

Has anyone ever gotten back with an ex and it turned out to be a positive outcome? Ex reached out after we broke up over a year ago (he ended things). It wasn’t necessarily a bad break up and we were only together for 3 months so not that long, but I was definitely crushed as I did like him. Looking back he definitely wasn’t in a place to actually date/be in a committed relationship at the time and I started to pick that up about a couple weeks before we broke up and he even admitted towards the end that he wasn’t in a position to give me what I wanted, and how that wasn’t fair for me. On top of his job he had (pilot) he was always gone and when he was home he was exhausted or just shut down with energy to entertain plus he was going away for deployment shortly for 7 months, so he’s only been home for roughly 2-3 months now. Anyways after some thought, I agreed to meet up a couple nights ago over drinks and when I showed up, he had flowers and our conversation was fine and he apologized and admitted that he was in the wrong in some areas and how things have changed after doing a lot of reflecting on his end and being in a different stage in life including change in his career. Of course I took it with the grain of salt because actions speak louder than words because talk is cheap. I thanked him for the drinks as he paid and he asked if I was interested in seeing each other again over text when I got home and I said I would have to think on it.
