Birth control recommendations

So im currently on nexplanon but getting it removed in a few months. Its been a not so great experience so i don't plan on getting it replaced. My periods are further spread out to every month and a half but i spot for a solid week before and after. And the bleeding itself lasts 10-14 days each time. Any recommendations? Im hesitant to try implants or iuds in case it doesnt work out for me. I have been looking at non hormonal methods like a diaphragm/cervical cap. My main purpose is to prevent pregnancy.
