I just got a new ring, I wore it overnight and when I woke up this morning to try and take it off it wouldn’t come off. I did end up getting it off and when I did my finger was a little swollen. Fast forward 6 hours later my finger is more swollen and is slightly painful. No discoloration. Should I just leave my finger as it is or should I get it checked out at an urgent care?

I personally would give it a day or two to heal up and just leave it at that. What is a dr going to do for that realistically? Maybe take an over the counter anti-inflammatory painkiller.

Ouch! I Wouldnt go in for this. Maybe hold an ice pack for a bit and take some aleve or ibuprofen. Try not to use it for a few days. Like the otger person mentioned, the dr isnt goong to do anything with it. They might tape it to the finger next to it for stability. Maybe.

I would get it checked. Going to urgent care may save you from an emergency room copay but if they need to take an xray, they may still refer you to the ER. Or if you can get a virtual consultation with your doctor. Doesn’t hurt to consult a doctor. It could be an allergic reaction to the ring you had in or you could’ve injured it when you were attempting to remove the ring. The bump on the top doesn’t look normal… could be a hematoma or cyst? Either way I would consult a doctor.
