First month on paraguard

This is my first month on the IUD and was wondering if some things are normal. Last friday I had a mini period like I actually got stained, I even got a regular tampon full and then the next day it completely stopped. My first is supposed to start this friday. Was that bleeding normal? I had my ultrasound appointment on monday but I had the flu so I couldn’t make it. I dont feel cramping ir discomfort, I was just wondering if that could be normal.
