So mad and will be going no contact with my inlaws...

Ohhhh I am so mad right now. Have been mad all day but even madder now and gonna vent to strangers lol. We have twin baby girls...age 9 months. My dad had a heart attack and me and my husband needed to go help my mom for a few days. We left the girls with my inlaws for 3 days as they have watched them and help with daycare pickups and what not since they live 5 minutes away and their daycare is within walking distance to both our houses. They had them from Saturday night until this morning when we got back. My mother in law on sunday morning...without our permission and knows we had said we were not gping to do this for years...went and got their ears pierced. We picked them up and one baby was fine but ones ear is red and obviously infected and was told oh ya she wont stop pulling on it and sister was plaging with her earring too and pulling on it...you probably wanna stop by urgent care on the way home. She asked us when.they were ike 3 months if we wanted to get them pierced so people stop thinking they are boys. We very sternly said no we are waiting until if/when they want it and can care for it themselves with minimal help. My mil 100% knew and remembers as she mentions it to women at our church when they ask and she'll say we are waiting until they are older. She told us her and a church friend on Sunday after service if they wanted prwtty ears and they giggled "so they told me they wanted them!!". And no it isn't a cultural things...they are american white mixed european mashup like me. My husband is equally mad and we have already told them we will br not talking to them for now and going to a different church. I've never been this mad or hurt. And yes it was infected so she is on amoxicillan for 7 days. Who puts holes in other peoples literal babies against their wishes....UGH. Thanks for listening, hopping off my box now to go rage punch needle some coasters. **Edit--so far no apology bur rather she doubled down that we should be thinking her because now people won't think we have sons instead of daughters. My bil called my husband and said their mom has also talked to like every member of their family out to like step aunts and 3rd cousins and twisted the story into something totally different where we told her to do it and go there and now we are mad because our bad choice of piercing place caused an infection. Apparently we are just mad at ourselves "for our lack of research and making a bad choice" and taking it out on her. She went to church bingo tonight to and told all the church ladies the same thing. Not seeing and apology anytime soon. Which while not always the easiest woman she has never done anything to this degree of crazy before but ya...no apology and an elaborate lie.
