Am I protected?

Got my IUD yesterday. Everywhere online says you're protected immediately. People have told me they've had sex after and have not gotten pregnant. But I also see you have to wait 7 days, this is Liletta btw. I'm so confused. I had the mirena and I was protected immediately.

If inserted during your period- it’s immediate. Any other time it’s 7 days. It’s very easy to find this information by going to the manufacturer website.

7days with the hormonal IUD, plus it’s a small infection risk due to the cervical dilation. Use condoms for the 7days if you must. 
I was told use condoms until my ultrasound to insure it’s in place 2weeks after placement
