Does anal hurt less at different times in your cycle?

My partner is really wanting to do anal. Like more than I want to. I’m not really into it. Buuut i want to know when is the best time to do it. I’m a mama and I just got my first cycle back after having my second baby and I’m remembering that near my period I sometimes feel constipated, (like even vaginal sex can feel sore sometimes before my period), but I would imagine that anal would hurt even more during this part of my cycle than other parts. What part of your cycle does anal hurt the least (or feel the best)? Right before your period? Right after? Before you ovulate? After you ovulate? I also understand that many people are on birth control and don’t have natural cycles of ovulation and a period but please share anyway and say if your on birth control or not. TIA
