I have been experiencing abnormal periods for years. Initially it was due to ovarian cyst but now, idk why I have these issues.

The prolonged period and unpredictable periods will come with additional symptoms like: swollen ovaries, foul smell, painful urination, pain in ovaries while sleeping or walking, random swollen boobs, extremely painful periods cramps on lower back while menstruating, pain during sex.

I got two ultrasounds. The ultrasound did not find anything. My doctor gave me birth control pills which stopped the bleeding and smell but I have my period two times a month and my ovaries still feel like it’s gonna pop or fall off sometimes and my boobs are randomly swollen still. I have to keep staying on birth control to stop the bleeding and help manage the symptoms

I was then referred to a gynaecologist for further review.

Took me three months to get this appointment. I went to the gyno for the first time and after reading my report FROM PREVIOUS TEST I DID 3-4 months ago. he said that he will not help me. He pretty much told me to go to my family doctor for my issues because everything I am experiencing is normal. He said that I do not have ovary pain but it must be something else and referred me to a gastroenterologist. I told him that I’m pretty sure it’s ovary pain but he insisted it was not. I asked him to run test and he said he will not. I walked out the door in tears.

I am so confused. Am I over exaggerating? I could’ve sworn it was ovary pain. He was so dismissive. As a black women I don’t take that stuff lightly. I am just scared honestly, and I already give up. I’m gonna live with this pain forever and always have unexpected periods. I have low iron because of how much blood I loose. Maybe this is normal? Either way I’m done trying to help myself.

Any advice on this or comments? I’m really distraught and confused and I’m ready to give up but I’m scared.
