On my 2nd Pregnancy, Only this time it’s Twins!

I’m pregnant with di/di boy girl twins and i’m currently at 31 weeks. I have history of preterm labor (PPROM) from my last pregnancy, which was also my very first. I currently have a cerclage that was put in place around about 23 wks. Now that our due date is so close I have many questions for my mamas with different experiences, whether it be high risk pregnancies, twins, preterm labor, or just any advice in general!

1. My goal would be to deliver naturally & non medicated.. Is this realistic given that I’ll be delivering twins? I had a natural birth with no epidural with my 1st, however she was born very preterm at 28 wks which i’m sure made it much easier to push out given she was only 2lbs 🥺

2. I see a lot of twin moms in this group that have scheduled C-sections for around 34-36 weeks, why is this? My doctors haven’t mentioned scheduling a delivery yet but I would most certainly intend on doing vaginal rather than C Section if possible. Both twins are currently head down so i’m hoping that’s got us toward the right direction of vaginal birth.

3. What are my expectations for after giving birth as far as my twins being in the NICU? I hear often times twins have a brief NICU stay after birth for different reasons. Should I expect to be discharged with my babies? My first born was born so early she had to stay in the nicu for almost 2 months before we could bring her home, so i’m trying to mentally prepare for how things will be after delivery.
