Late 20s how can I meet new friends?

I’m 28 and looking to make new friends. I’ve been in two long terms relationships and now I’m single and really wishing to not feel so lonely anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can meet new friends? (Other than at the bar or clubs)

Volunteer, check your library if they have any programs such as book clubs, or your parks and rec department for adult leagues.  My local fb groups get a lot of interest and people participating in things like walking groups, coffee meetups, monthly dinners, etc.
