Is discharge normal?

I started the pill for the first time ever in January so I’m still learning how my body reacts. The first period I had after taking it was a few days into taking the placebo pill. I’m one pill away from starting the placebo again and I’m having some light brown discharge off and on the past two days. I’ve had it before but I always start my period either the same day or a day after. What I’m wondering is, is it normal to have that kind of discharge before even starting the placebo? I have been having sex without a condom and without him pulling out so I’m just hoping it’s not a pregnancy thing😅
