Where do your kids go to school?

Just trying to get some opinions and see the numbers. My husband wants my son to go to private school as he did. We are not religious so that does not matter. I went to public and think they are just fine and FREE! Any opinions on one over the other?

Homeschool mom all the way. My kids are beyond where they would be in public school. We are able to work ahead my childrens pace. I was doing horribly in public school because i wasnt where i needed to be. I changed feom public to charter and i graduated early because they allowed me to work ahead and my own pace.

Mine goes to public. I’m not educated enough to homeschool and i know a lot of people that have had negative experiences with private religious schools. I know there can be good religious schools, but a lot are narrow minded and I don’t like what they teach. My boyfriend went to a private school and they didn’t even teach him about evolution. My son’s preschool was at a church and they were amazing and very inclusive but none of the other private schools are like that in my area. So public school was what was best for us

My oldest went to private school K-1st and I honestly wasnt impressed. They claimed o give so much individualized attention and accommodate if the kids are at different levels.  My son was horribly bored and hated going to school, they had him do all this testing (he tested gifted) but all they did to 'advance' him was give him more paperwork to do, which is exactly what he hated. I saw his love for learning decline. I looked into our public school gifted program and it was the same, mainly just giving them more work/homework but not really advancing their real learning. I also didnt like that by the time the kids line up their recess is only maybe 20 mins which to me is crazy for 5 and 6 year olds. So we tried homeschooling and loved it, all 4 of my kids are homeschooled (oldest is 12 now). Theyre mostly self taught and are either at or ahead grade level with not much time or paperwork needed. They have time for other things (eg my son is learning website building and graphic design, another is growing vegetables) and we have more time for travel and activities. Im not saying it's for everyone but we are happy with it. I actually used to think homeschooling was weird but my close friend was homeschooled and loved it and was even stronger academically and socially than I was (we went to college together) so it gave me a different perspective.

My sister & I went to public school, and my mom was a public school teacher. My husband & his brother did too, my nieces do virtual school. 
We live very close to a public school, and the ones around us are good schools. 
However, our daughter goes private school 20-25 minutes away. She went there for prek (which was free from the state) and she’s continued to stay there because we have a grant from the state that pays for most of her tuition. 
She’s very happy there, and we are also happy with the school. It’s small, they’re close knit and look out for each other.

I️ went to public school but my daughter will go to either private school or be homeschooled. We aren’t religious but we are followers of Christ. I️ still have to do research on which school because that will depend on where we live when she is school aged. Also, I️ highly recommend opening a 529 plan for your child for school (as soon as they’re born). You can even have family members contribute to it instead of doing multiple presents/gifts on holidays or birthdays. That way your money is growing as your child is growing. 💜 I️ know public school is free but don’t put a price on your child’s education if it’s manageable. Seems like your husband is more than willing to support financially which is great! I️ would trust him because he just wants the best for your child. You have a great partner there! 😭🙏🏽💜
