VBAC and growth restriction
I’m being followed closely this pregnancy as we had undetected growth restriction with my last pregnancy and ended up with an emergency C-section due to fetal distress during labour! Was told we had placental insufficiency and placental abruption and that we were lucky we didn’t have a still birth.
I’m 32 weeks and 3 days today with my second pregnancy. We have been having monthly ultrasounds since 24 weeks and baby girl has been measuring small but nothing my OB was concerned about (she was around the 24th percentile). I had an ultrasound last week and at my appointment today my OB said baby has dropped to the 11th percentile and that we may have to induce or do a C-section at 37 weeks. I have another ultrasound at the beginning of April and then she’s going to see where we will go from there. I really want to avoid a C-section this time but my OB is concerned about fetal distress during labour again this time. She’s talking about sending me for a contraction stress test to see if a vbac is possible.
Just wondering if there are any mamas with experience with growth restriction and vbac? Has anyone had a contraction stress test, I’ve never heard of it until today!
