Do you know your average cycle length? They say to take that number and minus 14 from it, then count from the first day of your period to that number. 
Example my periods are generally 26 days, minus 14 is 12. My period started March 17 so I ovulated approximately March 28 (CD12).
Make sure you go off your cervical mucous too. As soon as you see that egg white it’s baby making time

No you want the test line to be as dark as the control line. Did you just start testing today? You may have started a little late. You should be testing consistently twice a day every day starting around cd10.
