Consult after ultrasound?

I just got a message from my OB that they want me to have a consult after my next ultrasound which is worrying me quite a bit. I’ve never had to have a consult after any of my other ultrasounds in previous pregnancies and I was curious if anyone else had this happen and if it was serious or something small? I’m 23 weeks and just had my anatomy ultrasound a few weeks back. They literally told me nothing else. The next ultrasound is scheduled in two weeks so I’m just going to be worrying until then.

Its probably nothing concerning im 23 weeks as well an my ultrasound is next week again after my anatomy scan they told me she was breech and theres somethings they couldnt see in the scan. Try not to stress about it, im sure everything will be fine.

I consult with my OB after every ultrasound. It’s usually right after, but occasionally there’s not an appointment available and it gets scheduled at another time. You are legally permitted to the results of your ultrasound though, so you can either log in online to your portal and go to the hospital directly to request the report. It may give you some information before the appointment.

If you're worried call and get answers about why they are scheduling a consult if they never do that for you. Usually after the anatomy scan you should go straight to an exam room for your OB to go over results with you even if nothing is wrong. If they didn't do that or if they didn't see everything they needed to see during the anatomy scan, which they should have told you, its possible they are giving it another go.
