Should I get an IUD?

Hello! So I was wondering if I should switch from the pill to an IUD? I’ve been on the pill since I was 16 (I am now 21). Lately I’ve been extremely inconsistent with my pills and was have been scared to get the IUD because of the horror stories about others getting them so I’m kinda just stuck in a decision. Any advice?

I’m on my second IUD! I haven’t had a period in years, I really like it. I have the kyleena IUD (it lasts 7yrs). Just discuss the options with your doctor and see which one is the best fit!

I’m on my third IUD, and could not recommend them more. I love it! I’ve had the copper and hormonal (Mirena) versions. Loved both for different reasons.

I know there is a lot about IUDs out there and some are probably more dangerous than others. I'd talk to a Dr about options. I used one about 10 years ago and had no problems but I talked with my Dr and decided to go with an older one ( copper) that had been tried and tru for years with minimal side effects and my Dr was very familiar with them so he could make sure it was put in properly. I had mine in for about a year.
