tried to get a pap smear

hello! i am 22 years old and actually 20 weeks pregnant. i haven’t had a pap smear done since i was planning on getting one done once i turned 22 but actually found out i was pregnant a week after my 22nd birthday. i had an appointment today with my ob to make sure baby is ok and got blood work done. anyway i tried to get a pap smear done and i literally could not do it. she couldn’t even get her fingers in without it being extremely painful. i was also raped when i was 16 so i’ve had a lot of problems when it comes to sex and stuff like that. so i’m not sure if maybe it’s because of the trauma of it or what but ive heard it’s not suppose to be painful just pretty uncomfortable. i kinda feel embarrassed about it. i know ill need to get it done eventually (which my ob said we can do it after i give birth) but im just worried about how painful it was. any insight or advice or anything would be greatly appreciated. should it be painful? am i over exaggerating?
