Should I replace the car seat?
I saw a BabyTrend jogging stroller/car seat combo on clearance at Walmart last night for $81. The box was popped open and had a dent on the corner, but everything inside is still sealed in plastic. I pulled the pieces out of the box to inspect it and it doesn’t look damaged in any way, still have all the papers in the box, and does not appear to have been truly opened or returned or anything. I’m assuming the box fell off the truck while being unloaded and the top popped open. I bought it because $81 for a jogging stroller is not a bad price to begin with, but I’m thinking about replacing the car seat. There’s no obvious damage to the car seat, not even a scratch, but I know car seats need to be replaced even after a very small car accident. Should I replace the car seat or would you think it’s okay if it fell off the truck or was dropped while being unloaded? I don’t mind replacing it, I bought it for the stroller because I know I would end up paying $80-100 for a used one in good condition anyway, but this one is at least still in the plastic.
