is bc necessary?

my bf and i do t have sex too often. our schedules r a lil crazy and he lives kind of far. we try to meet up at least once a week but on average we'll have sex 2-4times a month. we always use a condom, but should i be on bc to avoid pregnancy?

I used condoms for 10 years and never had any problems and had sex way more than you. They're effective if used properly and protect from other things besides pregnancy. You're fine.

I would say if you don't have sex very often, BC might not be worth all the side effects. Condoms + avoiding sex on your fertile days is pretty effective. But if BC pulls might give you more peace of mind, it can't hurt to try them.
