When to tell....

Question

I read online someone (I think it was one of the Duggar children from the 18 and counting show) recently shared their pregnancy very early because she believes life begins at conception and if she miscarries she would mourn it publicly like someone would a "born" child. What do you ladies think? When will you tell?

I told my family when I found out, everyone else soon figured it out anyways as I was sick all the time. But I agree life begins at conception. It's a human, and it is to be celebrated and if they pass away it is to be mourned. And to have those who love and cherish you around to celebrate or mourn can only be a healthy thing.

I'm going to wait a bit. While I would certainly mourn a miscarriage, I feel like it would be my responsibility to tell everyone about it, it's not like we put obituaries in the paper for our miscarriages, and I don't want that responsibility.

With that being said, I'm only 5 weeks but I have already told my best friend.  I will probably tell a close cousin soon, but other than that will keep it a secret until about 11-12 weeks.

​I think it's all just a matter of preference. There is no right or wrong time.

Duggars are getting rich from their pregnancies - it's disgusting!  
​I don't plan to tell everyone (coworkers, FB, friends & family that aren't super close) until 12wks.  Otherwise, if I miscarry it would just result in unnecessary drama & attention  (people feeling sorry for me.)

I am 5 weeks and have told family and close friends. I am probably going to let it be public in a few weeks though. We waited until roughly 10 weeks with my first (based on the fertility doctor's recommendation) and I just don't want to wait this time. It was through a lot of prayer that I even was able to ovulate on my own so part of the reason I want to tell is because I want to tell how God healed me and then took it a step further and made us pregnant:)

After my miscarriage I chose to wait till we saw an ultrasound/heartbeat at about 10 weeks. I think people want to be kind and supportive, but some of the things people said bothered me (and I had only told a few very close friends). It's a personal choice everyone makes for themselves, though. And I think it's helpful to have someone to help you process your sadness/pain/loss.

We told our famillu at almost 6 w 2 d weeks and announced it after our firatdoctors  appointment at 8 w 5 d

I know I won't be able to keep it a secret.  So when I get pregnant I am going to tell one friend or family member a week, until we send out our announcement post cards at 9-10 weeks. Which makes every one finding out at 10-11 weeks and then I'll announce it to the Fb world at 12 weeks. (we live 2500 miles from family)
