How did your labor start?

Question

For those of you who already have a child or just did how did labor start for you? Did you just start with mild cramps that got worse? Did they come on painful right away? Did your water break? Just curious to hear the difference ways labor started 😃

My contradictions were very mild. I thought it was Braxton hicks. It was just cramping all day. Made me feel like I'd done 1000 crunches! My water didn't break on its own. My doctor did it after I'd already been in labor for a day. My contradictions didn't bother me at all until then. But I was given pitocin so mine didn't naturally progress as far as severity. It's supposed to just gradually increase. If you're not in a lot of pain, I'd wait on the epidural (if you're getting on) and walk around the hospital as long as you can. You can't walk after the epidural and if you stop progressing they'll want to give you pitocin. I would hold out on pitocin until after an epidural bc it definitely intensifies the contractions.

I was a week overdue and my son was measuring large so I went in for an induction, which I had been trying very hard to avoid. I requested a low level of pitocin so they started me on a 2 (usual initial amount is 10 I think) and after an hour of extremely mild contractions with no pain my water broke on its own. After that they actually stopped the pitocin and I labored totally on my own...contractions were immediately close together and painful. I thought I was being a baby bc everything said it will be a slow lead up but mine was totally not, it was 0-60 the second my water broke.

My water broke 4 days before my due date. I was asleep and felt it, jumped out of bed and made it to the bathroom tile floor where is gushed!!! I kept leaking water the whole time and changed about 4 times before leaving because I kept a getting wet. I decided to just get a towl for the car and forget it...I was going to leak even with a pad on. By the time we got to the hospitals I was soaked and the water was running down my legs.  My contractions didn't start till we were in the car 30 min later. After an hour an a half of contractions I was a 10 and had to push for an hour and she was here. It was all a crazy blur...went supper fast. However, I knew my water was going to break...my dr told me without a dout it would. Ali started dialating at 36 weeks and progressed each week. At my 37.4 week app I was 4 centimeters dialated and 80% effaced with a bulging  water sack. My dr said she couldn't believe it hadn't broke yet and that she has never been one bulg that much before. She thought I was going to go into labor that night! I was still working at the time as a kindergarten teacher and she said to make that my last week. I kept going into work with extra pants. Lol I progressed even more at my next app 5 centimeters and 90% effaced and like I said she only came 4 days early!!!

My water broke in stereotypical fashion, lol. The morning after Thanksgiving, I woke up to pee at 4:30 a.m., and felt a huge gush of fluid as soon as I stood up, and it continued leaking on my way to the bathroom. I allowed myself a moment to freak out before I woke up my husband. I called my doctor's answering service and was ordered to go to the hospital. Took a while for me to start feeling contractions. Had an epidural, but made little progress after pushing for a few hours; baby was slightly too large for my pelvis. Gavin was born via c-section at 10:53 p.m.

i star eating big dish of seafood  (bufette) then i feel so bad my belly take clean and my mucus out and star felling pain i drive to my house to live m6 other girl take warn shower and try to sleep 10 minuts latter pain worse i drive to hispital arround 11 pm my girl birt at 6 in the morning this happen in 12 hours

First one I felt "something" at exactly midnight but wasn't sure if it was contraction... Then by 1 I was sure cause they were much stronger and at a steady pace. Second it came out of nowhere like hulk just came up and started bear hugging me. First one and u was like oh shit its time...lol

I started with mild cramps that steadily got more intense. Never lost my mucus plug, baby never dropped, water never broke....but after having contractions for about 12 hours I went to the hospital and was already 4cm! Once she broke my water it went super fast, less than 30 min later I was pushing and I pushed for maybe 10-15 minutes.

I had cramps/back pain for a day. Then I began to have pink discharge and I thought my water broke. It was the middle of the night and my contractions were 7 mins apart so I called the on call OB(the only one in my office I didn't like). She said it was just my bloody show and not to call until my contractions were at least 5mins apart. Well they never were but I was leaking like crazy so as soon as the office openned I called and the nurse told me to go to L&D. My water had def. broke and I had my daughter in less than 10hrs.
