Can I have a period and be pregnant? My belly has gotten really big and I've gained over 15 pounds in the past few months

But that's the whole point of having a period; shedding the lining so that you body can hear up to release another egg and try for conception again.

Very Rarely, women can ovulate right after they get there period, which is why lots of women say that you can get pregnant on your period. It's if you have an off cycle.
