Moving of due date early in pregnancy
A friend of mine is also pregnant and at her very first appointment she wasn't sure of her last period and when she got their actual due date it was slightly later than she had originally thought, but again, she wasn't sure to begin with.
At her next appointment only a few weeks later (which was because she had spotting) they did another ultrasound and told her she was measuring a little ahead. So even though we are nearly 3 and a half weeks apart based off due dates, she is now telling people we are two weeks apart. She says because she was measuring ahead. I didn't think you could just 'move' your due date because you are meauring ahead or behind.
I measured 3 days ahead at my first appointment than what they gave me as my actual due date based off of my period, but they kept the same due date which was based off my period.
My friend was saying that she thinks they may change her due date at her next appointment because she was ahead at the last one. Has anyone had this happen where the doctors actually changed your due date according to how you measured? I just assumed they wouldn't because you could measure ahead one week and behind another depending how baby is growing and I can't imagine they would keep switching the date.
And I've never seen anyone tell people they are father along then they actually are just by how the baby measured in an ultrasound but their due date hasn't changed.
Thoughts??
