What do you wish someone told you about labor & delivery?

It's not going to be easy. How ever you end up birthing your baby, whether it be c-section or vaginal, all natural or with an epidural, you've still created a miracle and you should be so proud of yourself. Don't let ANYONE tell you otherwise.

Nobody told me that when your water breaks,  IT KEEPS COMING. When my water broke I took a shower before going to the hospital. When I got out of the shower there was another gush of fluid and I was like "MOM" screaming for help. She came in laughing at me and she's like, "no, it's not gonna end until the baby comes" WELL I WISH SOMEONE HAD TOLD ME

You still have painful contractions for days after labor especially while breastfeeding.

After the baby is born you also have to birth the placenta which sometimes the nurses just smash the crap out of your abdomen until it comes out which in my first birth was worse than labor!

The "massaging" of your uterus that the nurses do afterwards is worse than labor 😩
Also I had so much pressure in my tailbone it felt like he was coming out of my butt! My tailbone hurt so bad for like 3 weeks.

Birth plans rarely go as you hope so be flexible :-)

The first trip to the washroom after, especially #2 is HORRIBLE. If even slightly constipated, ask for a laxative, its worth it trust me.
You still contract after baby is born, especially when breastfeeding.
Last minute csections are overwhelming, plan for every possibility!
Bring entertainment for after baby is born and between naps and visitors. The white hospital walls are depressing.
Nurses can be rude and pushy on FTMs so don't be afraid to say no or voice your opinion. Nothing is mandatory!!! You do have a choice. 
Sleep every chance you get. No matter what.

The pressure you get when its time to push being worse than the contractions because sometimes you can't stop your body from pushing and the Drs are all like don't push yet 😒

Hmmm.. I wish someone would have told me (or maybe I wish I would have listened).. that labor is a long process and just because you've started dilating or feeling contractions doesn't mean you're going to have your baby in the next couple of days. It made my last couple of weeks so miserable because I kept getting let down.

Also, wish someone would of told me that actual contractions and pushing feels like you are trying to poop out a bowling ball hahaha.

You are going to be very scared to poop haha. But it will be ok :)
