Wedding?

Just wondering how everyone else went about their wedding.. Was it small or big? Did you just go to the courthouse? How do you plan this out when they're away for so long?

I was 19 when my husband and I got married. We had a civil ceremony first and then a formal one 9 months later. For the formal one we ordered party platters from Safeway and had it at the chapel on base lol :) it was perfect.

We had been together for 8 years when we got married, we did it a month before he left to basic. We actually got married on our 8 year anniversary. We did it at a church in an outside little pavilion and then did the reception at my grandparents house. It was mostly just our families & close friends. We only had one person stand up next to us my sister & his best friend (my sisters hubby). It was pretty casual. We had rented tables, chairs, & few other things from a local company. We did have an actual wedding cake & catering. So it was a decent fairly small wedding where I lived they wouldn't do courthouse weddings but I'm glad cause it turned out better.

My husband and I were dating for 7 years when he had to go to boot camp so we got married the month before (courthouse) with only my sister as my witness. We were engaged for 3 years lol. It was really quick and special, I would have loved a big wedding but we saved lots of money!

My husband and I married 3 weeks after getting engaged because of a surprise posting message. Found out February 6 about the posting and we were married on February 28. We contacted the base padre the day we got our message and he was amazing at helping us secure the base church for that day as well as the mess for our reception. We used wing foods as our caterer and went to an external company for our decorations and floral! We had 108 guests and it was beautiful, wonderful and amazing. I would do nothing different!
